Throughout my pregnancy, I tried very few new products and mostly relied on a trusted few. My skin had a couple issues in the first/early second trimester but mostly stayed pretty healthy throughout pregnancy (let’s not talk about allll the other symptoms, though). I did, however, experience a significant amount of dryness, though. I was drinking so much water it was ridiculous, but skin wasn’t getting the memo because my body was using up all the water on other things. I was also pregnant throughout winter so that only added to the issue. So I made sure I was incorporating more hydrating products into my skin and also tested a new eye cream (because, you know, sleepless nights and all). I didn’t always use all of these products as a complete skin care routine but I used them quite often. I’m still on the hunt for a really good daytime moisturizer (let me know if you have suggestions). I’m no longer pregnant, but I’m still using these products, especially when traveling because my skin stays so dry.
Best Hydrating Skincare 2018
Derma-E Hydrating Cleanser
This is my favorite facial cleanser at the moment and I do use it almost daily (or twice daily). It’s super gentle and hydrating yet cleans very well. I also use it in the shower for an ultra deep clean.
Mario Badescu Facial Spray
This facial spray comes in so handy when traveling or in the winter months. I love to keep it with me any time I know my skin is going to need a little refresh. I adored this when we were in the hospital for Milo’s birth. Hospital rooms can get so dry and sometimes feel stuffy but a quick spritz of this stuff and my skin felt much better. We ended up being in the hospital for a full week so I was especially grateful to have this with me. Bonus — it’s under $10!
Derma-E Hydrating Serum
I always use a serum as a part of my skincare routine and this is one of my absolute favorite serums. I usually switch up my serums day and night but I came to love this one for both. It just made my skin feel so luscious. I actually ran out at the end of pregnancy and may or may not have been moved to tears at the thought of using the last pump. Now that the weather has warmed up a little (and because I ran out of this), I’m not as hung up on using a hydrating serum. I’ll sometimes use a vitamin C serum but this hydrating serum was my favorite this entire winter season. I also felt like this serum helped prep my skin for makeup.
Derma-E Hydrating Facial Wipes
These wipes were also in my hospital go-bag and I honestly have sort of mixed opinions about them. I would not recommend these as makeup removing wipes, but they are great for a quick shot of hydration at night or any other time I happen to not be wearing makeup (a little more than usual in the past 8+ weeks).
Derma-E Hydrating Night Cream
You might be noticing a trend here. I’m a little more than obsessed with Derma-E and I’m totally loving their hydrating line of products. This one is pretty self explanatory but this cream is an awesome night cream. It leaves my skin feeling super hydrated throughout the night and I wake up feeling fresh and ready to take on a new day. I mentioned above that I’m currently looking for a new day cream, but this one takes the cake for my evening routine right now.
VIIcode T2 Eye Cream
This portion of the post is sponsored by VIIcode. All opinions are my own.
I was recently given the opportunity to test out this super luxe eye cream and it became a favorite of mine — especially at the end of my pregnancy when most nights were sleepless. When I was pregnant, people loved to tell me, “Enjoy the sleep while you can. Once the baby comes, you won’t ever sleep again”. But I’m honestly sleeping way better postpartum than I ever did pregnant (especially towards the end). So I became very grateful for this product because it helped me look energized when I felt like a zombie.
What are some of your current favorite skincare products. Have you tried any of these?
