If you follow me on Instagram (or anywhere really), you might have noticed that I recently attended Southern Blog Society’s 3rd annual #SBScon in Charleston.  The weekend went entirely too fast, but it was a wonderful time of networking and blog talk.  This is the look that I wore to the Swoozies cocktail party the first night.

I would say that this was the perfect dress for the occasion and the weather (aka hot, hot, hot and humid, humid, humid), but I had a little wardrobe malfunction while I was shooting Sabrina’s (Simply Sabrina) look.  If I tell you I had a wardrobe malfunction in this dress, you probably assume it was something related to the zipper.  But no.  I had a different, albeit classic mishap in this cute little thing.  I know (from experience) that lightweight skater dresses are no bueno for me if there is any kind of wind, but I followed my heart and not my brain and wore the dress anyway. Needless to say, I had a Marilyn moment and flashed approximately four people (if you include Sabrina) my lacy panties.  Not exactly my best moment, but what can you do?  I was obviously embarrassed, but I was able brush it right off and pose for these pics.  Because stuff happens.  Then I promptly ran up to the room and borrowed some bike shorts from Sabrina (thanks, girl!).

I actually had a similar moment in Savannah a couple years ago with my sisters.  I should have learned my lesson then, but enough time had passed that I forgot.  I hope I don’t forget again.  If I do, I’m sure I’ll let you know.

Have you ever had a wardrobe malfunction?  Please make a girl feel better and tell me about it.

Happy Tuesday, dolls!

xo,

Mae-Signature

  4. Love this dress! The same thing nearly happened to me in Charleston when I was taking photos—that wind was no joke.

Lol! But I can totally see why you wanted to wear the dress despite previous experiences. It’s super cute and I love the floral pattern.
