As a full-time life and style blogger, I rely heavily on my phone to stay connected and manage my projects. I’m almost always on my phone. As such, I can burn through a lot of data. Thankfully, I recently encountered the Walmart Family Mobile PLUS plan, which allows me to use my favorite apps for managing my blog without worrying about using too much data.
I’ve recently discovered a few apps that help me be productive no matter where I am. Because the Walmart Family Mobile PLUS plan includes more data, I am able to get so much more done without worrying about going over my data allowance. With more data and my favorite apps (listed below), I am able to manage my blog and stay connected all the time.
Buffer – I use the Buffer app to schedule tweets and Facebook posts throughout the day. You can use recommended posting times or create a custom schedule to post your own content or others’ content at the best times. I usually schedule out my own content, and post others’ content immediately, as I find it. But I also like to schedule out content that I find helpful or interesting sometimes.
WordPress – for all of you WordPress users (self-hosted or otherwise), this app is essential. I use it for two main things: 1) getting real-time updates on stats as well as detailed demographic information and 2) replying to comments as they come in. The app is SUPER easy to use and has been super helpful to me since I discovered it. If you’re on the go and have a post idea, you can even start a draft straight from the app.
Dropbox – Okay, this one has been completely invaluable to me. I started using Dropbox a long time ago, but really only used it as a backup. Now, I use it as my primary storage for all blog pictures. When I upload my photos from my DSLR, I save them directly to Dropbox. Once I’m done editing them, I’ll save the edited versions in Dropbox as well. This makes it super easy for me to grab an edited pic and pull it into Instagram or Buffer to post or schedule it. Honestly, managing my pictures has never been easier and I love that the extra data from the Walmart Family Mobile PLUS plan allows me to have access to my blog pictures ALL the time. I can’t believe I didn’t start using this system sooner.
The Walmart Family Mobile PLUS plan is an incredible value (in my opinion, based on my current rates and coverage). This plan includes unlimited talk, text, & data (up to 10GB of 4G LTE) for just $49.88/month. To sweeten the deal, you get a free movie on VUDU ($7 value) every month.
To test out the plan, I bought the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime smartphone, which is a super sharp looking phone. It was only $79.92 (originally $99.92). I also needed to purchase a Starter Kit, which just costs $25 and you only need it once. You can get your phone set up in store, online, or over the phone. I do basically everything online these days, so that’s how I started. However, I received an error the first couple times I tried it and ended up calling. I’m actually super glad that I ended up calling because I was very impressed with their customer service line. I called and was completely set up with a new plan and phone number within 6 minutes (including wait time). I couldn’t stop talking about how smooth the process was so I thought it was worth sharing here. When you’re ready to set up your phone, just make sure you have your phone, your Starter Kit, and your ID (like a driver’s license) handy.
I’m definitely digging this plan and the extra data allows extra productivity. This is also the perfect time of year to take advantage of a plan like this. Because, with tax season upon us, you can use your refund to buy your new phone. Plus, if you’re like me, a little freebie doesn’t hurt. With the free movie from VUDU every month, I can reward myself once I’ve completed all my work by watching my free movie at home via Chromecast. #DataAndAMovie anyone?
How would you use your extra data? Would you use it for productivity? Creativity? Fun? All of the above?
Hope you had a lovely weekend and thanks for stopping by!
