Red

I LOVE red in all varieties, but usually reserve the color for my lips.

I had a red bag from Old Navy that was everything to me when I was about 10.  I can’t remember it entirely, but it was sort of sporty.  Definitely nothing fancy (I was a tomboy, afterall).  But I just remember being so attracted to the color.  And so began my obsession with red.  I LOVE red.  But I typically reserve the color for my lips.  I have a lot of redness skin, so I’ve sort of come the think that wearing red only brings out the redness in my skin.  Maybe this is a rule I heard somewhere or a tip for gals with redness in their faces.  However, and maybe it’s a product of age, but I’ve come to care less and less about the rules.  Basically my only rule these days is “wear what you like.” And red, I like.

So aside from my ramblings on the color red, I only have 3 things to say about this look:

1. If I could only have one pair of jeans for spring (or maybe all seasons), it would be this pair of jeans.  I like the way they make me feel most of all, but they also have a lighter wash and sort of channel boyfriend jeans and distressed jeans without really being either.  I believe they are called boyfriend skinnies.  Jeanius.  You see what I did there?  They are definitely on the expensive side but so worth it. They hold up really well and are really well made.

2. These flats are bananas adorable.  They are shockingly perfect in person.  And they only cost about $13.  Buy them in every color.  You won’t regret it.

3.  I actually hate wearing flats because I’m only 5 feet tall.  Let me rephrase that, I like flats, but I hate wearing them in pictures.  That is, unless I’m wearing other pieces that I feel great in.  Like the jeans I mentioned or this rad moto jacket/blazer.  Wearing pieces that I feel comfortable in gives me the confidence to rock flats.

PS – the jacket linked is the EXACT jacket.  It looks purple in the pictures on the store’s website, but I assure you, it is quite grey.
