Mary Kay Glam VoxBox
The Products
NouriShine Plus Lip Gloss in Mango Tango
MK: Rich, intense, long-wearing shades.
Mae: Love the color! The gloss is creamy and applies easily. I didn’t wear the product for long so I’m not sure about how lasting it is. I have no complaints.
Mineral Cheek Color in Shy Blush
MK: Stay-true color defines cheekbones.
Mae: At first I felt sort of “meh” about the blush. However, I found myself using the item again the next day and quite liked it. An issue I sometimes find with pink blush is that the color payoff is a little too good. With this blush, you get a nice pink without it being too heavy. I think this will be a go-to.
Gel Eyeliner with Expandable Brush Applicator in Jet Black
MK: Versatile eyeliner with intense color payoff.
Mae: I love gel eyeliner but I’m not so great with the application. The applicator helps apply the product in a solid, smooth line, which I like. I can’t apply eyeliner to my right eye very well so don’t judge me. I can’t open my left eye all the way without squinting or opening my right eye. The result is not very pretty. As such, I generally stick to liquid eyeliner pens because they are easy to apply. But I still really enjoyed this item and, if you’re okay with your hands, you’ll probably like it too.
MK: Mascara that defines, defends, and delivers four times the volume.
Mae: Love this mascara. It’s lightweight and subtle in a good way. I have long lashes as it is so I don’t think I would call this mascara “lengthening,” but I definitely like it. It doesn’t weigh my lashes down but provides a delicate and feminine look.
MK: Creates a natural-looking, sun-kissed glow.
Mae: Nice bronzing powder. Not too dark, which I like. Has a slight shimmer and is very soft. Gets my vote!
MK: Natural bristles help provide even, smooth application of loose and pressed powders to help “set” foundation.
Mae: I liked this brush. I used it to apply each of the powder products (blush, bronzer, and translucent powder). There was nothing remarkable about it but it worked well for this look.
Cream Eye Color in Apricot Twist
MK: Soft, creamy, long-wearing formula.
Mae: Dittto.
Cream Eye Color/Concealer Brush
MK: The perfect brush for applying any cream product.
Mae: This brush worked with the cream shadow but I prefer using my ring finger to apply cream products.
MK: Controls unwanted shine all day.
Mae: Loved this powder! It’s great to set any look.
The Look
All of the items above were provided in the Mary Kay Glam VoxBox.
To accomplish this look, I started with a fresh face then applied my foundation and under eye concealer and filled in my brows, as usual (see the third image up). After that, I completed the look above (second to last and last images) using only the Mary Kay products from the VoxBox.
I used the cream shadow all over my lids. I started with the cream shadow brush but ended up using my finger to blend. I used the bronzing powder in the creases of my eyes. I then applied the bronzing powder to the hollows of my cheeks, under my chin, and above my brows using the powder brush. I used the gel liner to apply a medium line to the top lash only. I used the mascara as usual then applied the blush from the apples of my cheeks up towards my hairline. Finally, I set my makeup with the translucent powder by applying it essentially everywhere there wasn’t another powder (bronzing or blush).
Have you tried any of these products? Let me know what you think!
Happy Tuesday!
