Joie de Vivre
I would consider my style pretty casual in general. I do love dressing up, but I maintain a laid back element to most of my looks. That being said, this look is a little more casual than even I tend to tread. But I love it. The army jacket is a constant favorite of mine. I’ve mentioned before that I was a major tomboy as a kid. I was all about Chucks (just like my dad’s), striped tee, and overalls. A true 90s kid. And while I may have matured and branched out in terms of style, I apparently have not totally parted ways with my childhood threads. Because this look would have been right up 7-year-old-me’s alley. Like, right up there.
Joie de Vivre seems incredibly appropriate for this post because I was a pretty happy 7 year old. The most important things to me were probably acquiring a puppy dog (didn’t happen until I was 11), drawing, swim team, and playing with my friends. As happy as I was then, I can say that I am even happier now. I feel like I’ve sort of tapped back into the joy of living and just being present. I don’t have everything figured out. I have no idea where I’ll be in a year and I’m just really okay with it. For my joy is much more about the company I keep than anything else. And I must say, I’m in pretty good company (aka, Nick).
