How to Host a Stress-Free Holiday Gathering

We’ve been in our current home for over 7 years and I’ve had the honor of hosting holiday gatherings here for our families a time or two.

When we have company over for the holidays, it also almost always means overnight guests. So planning a meal for the main event is not my only priority. To minimize the stress of hosting for the holidays, I have one major secret. I buy a Honey Baked Ham.

Don’t get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoy hosting. I love having people in my home and I also actually enjoy cooking. But I also know myself and I will inevitably get overwhelmed if I try to tackle all of the cooking and cleaning and prepping.

So I always order a ham and sometimes a turkey and sides from The Honey Baked Ham Company. They make better ham and turkey than I could anyway and it is SO convenient. I put together my order online, choose a pickup date, and everything is ready for me on the day I need it.

This year, I’m not hosting anything because our home is currently in boxes and we’ll be going to family instead of family coming to us. But I still wanted to have dinner for our little family (likely our last Christmas in this house), so I placed my my HoneyBaked Ham order.

  • Honey Baked Ham, Bone-In
  • Roasted Turkey Breast
  • Country Cornbread Stuffing
  • Double Cheddar Macaroni and Cheese
  • Loaded Smashed Potatoes
  • Cinnamon Apples
  • Cinnamon Walnut Coffee Cake
  • Southern Pecan Pie

I am obsessed with the Honey Baked Ham. Like I said, we’ve ordered them before for our guests and they are always a hit. It’s the ultimate HoneyBaked flavor—the perfect balance of sweet and savory with the sweet, crunchy glaze. It’s always moist and tender because it’s hand-selected and slow-smoked for up to 24 hours. We love that it’s ready to serve from the moment you pick it up. It’s sliced and ready to serve so you can even pick it up on your way to a party. Honey Baked Ham is also delicious on sandwiches for leftovers. We like to use it to make hot sandwiches in the panini press. Yum!

The Roasted Turkey Breast has the same delicious glaze and also makes delightful sandwiches. We like to grab a few sides from HoneyBaked as well because it eliminates the need to prep a bunch of food and they are delicious, just bring them home to prepare them in the oven and serve with the ham and you have a delicious spread for your guests.

Next year, I fully intend to order all of the food for our gathering from HoneyBaked again. Hopefully next year we’ll be in a new place. What a fun time it will be!
