How I Unwind
Lately I’ve found myself getting a little overwhelmed with (involuntary) home projects. I’ve mentioned it recently, but we’ve had a steady list of projects to get done on our home for months. Every time it feels like we’ve taken care of one thing, another thing pops up. Thankfully one area that doesn’t require any attention right now is one of our guest bedrooms. So whenever I get a little overwhelmed, I like to retreat to this space and just do some things that make me happy. Like, painting my nails, planning vacations, and testing out lip products.
New Nail Polishes I’ve recently discovered these Wet n Wild gel polishes and they are LIFE. For quite some time I’ve been a loyal fan of the Sephora Formula X polishes, but these Wet n Wild polishes are half the price and I think I like them just as much. They last for forever and make my nails feel really strong. Plus they have lots of great color options. I picked up two at Target then ordered eight or so more online. Definitely worth trying out. In this post I’m wearing Pale in Comparison but my other favorites lately have been Pinky Swear, Stay Classy, and Condensed Milk. I picked up several other colors but because these last so well I really haven’t had the chance to try them all.
Planning Vacations One of my other favorite pastimes is planning vacations. I’m telling you, I can create some KILLER itineraries without ever even leaving my bed. While I don’t think I’m unique by any means as a result of my love for travel, I still find it worth saying that I LOVE all things travel. Since I was about six years old I have devoured geography and culture and loved trivia about different countries. I was a homeschooled kid and my mom let me pick some of my areas of study. I was obsessed with Africa, ancient Egyptian history, and Greek mythology. Before I was ten I could name all the countries in Africa (definitely can’t do that anymore) and could spout out random facts about Greek gods. I did a fair amount of travel when I was in my late teens/early (er) twenties but it seems that travel is the bug that is never satisfied. As with any good obsession, the more you have the more you want. I haven’t had as much opportunity to travel the past couple years, so I just plan the heck out of trips. I create these detailed itineraries and it makes me happy even if I never take the trip. Though, I sincerely hope I do. I always think of JM’s line “Plan a trip to Japan alone // Doesn’t matter if I even go.” I won’t finish out that lyric but that just sort of sums up this hobby of mine. It’s about the daydream and the what if.
Testing New Lip Products Finally, I’ve been testing out new lip products like a mad woman in prep for some new spring beauty content. I’ve got dozens of lippies to try out and can’t wait to share my findings with you all. I’ve been on a little bit of a liquid lipstick kick but I still love a classic lipstick and lipgloss combo.

A few questions to round out the week:
- What are some of your favorite ways to unwind?
- What’s your favorite nail polish brand? Color?
- If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would you go? Why?
- What’s your current favorite lip product? Anything I should be trying out?
And that’s a wrap. Have a great weekend!
Much love,
