Happy Friday, loves! Welcome to a new series I’ll be sharing most Fridays with a few things I love (from favorite things to favorite feelings) from the week. I’ve been wanting to do a Friday series for forever but struggled with making it original. I’ve finally decided that original photography is the best way for me to do that so here ya have it.
Cozying up with a good book and blanket
This fuzzy throw that I bought myself for Christmas is SO cozy and soft. I carry it around my house to whatever room I am in like a child. Just call me Linus. I also bought the blanket in this color, but the one pictured is my favorite. I’ve just started reading a few pages of Wildflower by Drew Barrymore. N bought it for me for Christmas and I haven’t read much yet but I mostly asked for it because I liked the cover.
Getting back in the groove and back online
This palm leaf phone case on the rose gold iPhone 6s is so pretty and super swoon worthy. I’m SO excited to finally have a new phone. I was basically forced offline when my phone quit on me. If you’ve ever hung out with me, you know that my iPhone 5 was jacked. Like, if I even opened Instagram my phone would just shut down. But I’m the type of person who uses stuff until it is no longer functional at all. I drove my first car until it wouldn’t drive anymore then just went without a car until my mom took me to the car dealership and said it was time for me to get something. I’m not someone who has the latest version of anything, but I definitely appreciate having a current (aka “working”) phone. And I can finally get caught up on Instagram/Snapchat/life again.
Scented Candles and Fresh Flowers
I’ve always loved a good fragrance, but growing up we weren’t allowed to have scented things in the house because of my mom’s allergies. I just kind of got used to not having candles or flowers. But when N and I got married, and especially when we bought our home, he got me hooked on candles. He likes candles for both their lighting abilities and their fragrance. I just really like burning them. Going candle shopping is now a bi-weekly outing. We look for candles at HomeGoods and Target mostly. This Cashmere Plum candle is my current favorite, but I’m also loving the Pomegranate and Currant candle from Paddywax.
The Right Boots for the Weather
Wanna know something weird about me? I used to get really anxious about what shoes to wear in the winter. Like, it was an actual thing that I would freak out (internally) over. I love these durable boots (seen early this week in my parka post) so much that I actually wear them just about every day (unless I’m wearing my Nike sneakers). They are warm enough for the cold weather and they’re waterproof so they hold up on a rainy day. I also really like the height – they cover my ankles but don’t come up so high that they make my short legs look shorter. I still have my freakouts over what to wear, but happily…what casual winter shoes to wear ain’t no thing.
Also, I have to give a shoutout to Vera Bradley for the coziest buffalo check blanket. If you’ve never had one of VB’s fleece blankets, get one. They are the SOFTEST.
