We’ve had a couple of unseasonably warm days lately and it has me dreaming of spring trends. I am so ready to break out the floral blouses, but for now I am incorporating subtle spring-appropriate pieces (like the light grey bag, the flirty scalloped pumps, and lightweight blouse) into my wardrobe.
This past weekend, I wore this look to lunch with Nick. It was still quite cold in the morning but I knew it was supposed to be warmer during the day, so I took to my layering skills to dress for the weather. Because I knew I wanted to wear this blouse, which is sleeveless, I layered a lightweight cardigan (barely shown in the third picture) over the blouse so that I would still feel covered when I took my coat off at lunch. The coat itself is pretty lightweight, so the extra layer was also great for the morning. It ended up being perfect for the weather.
Every now and then I get stuck in these habits where I wear the same basic things over and over again. Like a few months ago when I couldn’t stop wearing flowy long sleeve blouses and faux fur vests. Now my thing is skinny jeans, pointy toe pumps, and a long coat. I’ve been wearing this combo a lot the past couple of weeks. I thinks it’s because, as I mentioned above, the weather has been slightly warmer during the day. I haven’t seen my feet while wearing shoes in months so I’ve been dying to break out the pointy pumps and skinny jeans are an obvious pairing.

I for some reason feel better if my tops have a second color showing underneath for depth and to make my prints stand out by showing more colors that match!!!
