I seriously love deals. I always say that “it doesn’t matter how much money I have, I’ll always love a bargain!” And I think that’s true. Now I’m a big kid with “big kid money” and I delight in finding a $2.00 watch now just as much as I did when I was a poor college kid. Maybe even a little more. A dollar means a little more to me now than it did then because I know how many dollars it takes to pay a mortgage…or an electricity bill…or to take miss Lily to the vet. That being said, it’s still important to me to buy things I enjoy. I hate being guilty of spending even a dollar on something I don’t like because then I’ve wasted a dollar. Instead, I try to find pieces that are current or classic and that I will actually wear. I also look for items that don’t require a ton of alterations or fixes. For instance, this thrifted watch is a great style and was in near-perfect shape. It just needed a new watch battery (which probably costs more than the watch) – still worth it! The clutch/cross body I thrifted cost me $2.00. It had a staple in the panel that I took out and can’t even tell it was ever there. It was also missing one of the magnetic clasps – nothing a quick trip to Michael’s can’t solve. Again, still worth it! So there ya have it. Thrifting is great as long as you feel great about the pieces you buy.
