For this Valentine’s Day, I’m opting for a subtler makeup look with a light purple eye and pink lipstick! Watch me get this look in the video below. I’ve never gotten ready so fast in my life…I kid. This took over 30 minutes. I’m one of those people that will put make up on until I’m dragged out the door. I just can’t stop unless I HAVE to.
Originally I was going to do this tutorial-style, but it really turned into an opportunity for me to test out some new products. I had never used the Naked Skin foundation or concealer, the Mirabella primer, or the Becca highlighter. There were a couple other first time products in there but I can’t remember off the top of my head. I have lots of products just waiting for the right occasion, so I’ve challenged myself to start using more of a variety (I tend to stick with the same products that I know will work).
Products used:
Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation (in 1)
– This foundation is super lightweight and runny, which threw me off at first. I definitely wouldn’t call it full coverage, but I didn’t cover any of my dark spots/acne scars with concealer and I still felt like my skin looked pretty good after using it.
E.L.F Smudge Pot (Poppin Party)
NYX Dream Catcher Palette (Dusk Til Dawn)
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz (Dark Brown)
Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade (Medium Brown)
Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer
BH Cosmetics Forever Nude Palette (Light/Medium)
Rimmel London ScandalEyes Waterproof Kohl Eyeliner (Black)
Tarte Gifted Mascara (for bottom lashes)
Benefit They’re Real Mascara (for top lashes)
BH Cosmetics Bombshell Bronze (Starlet)
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfecter Pressed (Opal)
Rimmel London Exaggerate Full Color Lip Liner (Eastend Snob)
The Balm Lipstick (Ima Goodkisser)
BareMinerals Moxie Buttercream Lip Gloss (Perky Peony)
Rimmel London Stay Matte Pressed Powder (Transparent 001)
After making this long, long list of products, I feel like this is a pretty healthy mix of drugstore/affordable and mid-priced items. However, some items are just for fun, and you can certainly recreate this look using only drugstore items.
Hope you all enjoyed this video! Please tell me what types of videos you’d like to see in the future. It would make me super duper happy.
xo,
Your makeup is always flawless – love this video! Loved to see the mix of all the different brands and products. Maybe a hair tutorial (video) next?
Thank you, Elyse!! You’re too sweet. Thanks for the suggestion. I’m trying to get in the habit of making videos regularly, so I’ll add a hair tutorial to the list! xo
Oh, you are so cute! I love that you went with purple, too. That means I can try it any time of the year!
