Planning Our Nashville Itinerary

Planning Our Nashville Itinerary

We’ve been to Nashville a few times but we took Milo for the first time when he was a baby and we had so much fun. We’re planning a return trip next spring and I’ve already begun planning our ideal Nashville itinerary.

On our last trip, we ate so much wonderful food and did some really fun things. It was the perfect trip to take with a baby. He also slept through all of our meals, which was really nice!

Some of our favorite things we did were: the Old Town Trolley Tours trolley ride, creating a bouquet at Amelia’s Flower Truck, and seeing a show at The Grand Ole Opry.

Heading back with a now toddler Milo, we have slightly different priorities and points of interest we’d like to see.

Having already done a trolley tour, this won’t be returning to our itinerary. We were glad we did it the first time. Our only regret was not doing it earlier in our trip. It gave us a great overview of the city. You can hop on and hop off at any of the stops but we didn’t stop at many. If we did it again, we’d do it earlier in the trip and drive back to the places where we’d like to spend more time.

Hotels

We are planning to stay for 3 nights on our next trip. We haven’t booked our stay yet, but we are looking at a few options. We’ll be looking for luxury amenities and proximity to things we want to do. Though, I should note that while proximity is an important aspect of any stay, Nashville is a very drivable city. It’s very easy to get around in our experience and there’s far less traffic than we are used to in Atlanta.

Here are our current top contenders:

  1. Omni Nashville (Downtown)
  2. Dream Nashville (Downtown)
  3. Thompson Nashville (The Gulch)

Points of Interest

Nick is a musician and what better place to experience music via live performances and music history than Music City itself? We didn’t get to do some of the things we wanted to do last time, so we are putting them in first priority spot this time.

At the top of Nick’s list are:

  1. Tour the Ryman – some of his favorite live recordings were performed here so it would be a treat for him to get a backstage tour.
  2. Hatch Show Print tour – while not directly a music experience, Hatch Show Print definitely has musical ties. Nick has Jonny Lang and B.B. King posters (from when we attended their shows) that were printed at Hatch Show Print. We stopped at the gift shop last time, but this time we’ll take the tour.
  3. Country Music Hall of Fame – a must-do in Nashville that we haven’t been able to do before.

We are also planning to visit the Nashville Zoo and the Adventure Science Center for Milo. For this trip, we’ll probably spend a day doing tours, then spend another day doing the zoo and science center. We’ll try to fit in a show at The Grand Ole Opry one night. I’m also voting that I get to go to hotel spa during one of Milo’s naps but we’ll see how that plays out. Then we’ll do breakfast and coffee before heading out on our last day.
