Hayy, girl, hayyyy! Happy Valentine’s Day! Still riding that gorgeous weather train so I’m breaking out my favorite crochet lace, bell sleeve white blouse from last year (last seen here). It’s perfect for these warmer days and I’m so glad I get to wear it from now until probably October. Good news – it’s in stock and in even more colors than before! So, you can wear it too! Though not strictly a v-day look, this outfit (particularly this top) is one of my favorites for a low-key date night with my boo.
Low-Key Valentine’s Date
I feel like I say this every year, but Nick and I don’t really celebrate Valentine’s Day. We, in general, aren’t fancy about celebrating things: birthdays, anniversaries, etc. We usually nod to them and acknowledge them. But our way of celebrating is not really typical. We don’t really do gifts or go out. We celebrate by giving each other concert tickets and ordering takeout from our favorite Italian restaurant. We love events and adventure, but deep down we’re just homebodies who bond over music and TV.
When we do date night, we keep it low-key. And, let’s be honest, when you’re married with no children, every night is date night. Amiright? Tonight, we’ll probably order takeout Italian as usual. If the weather is nice, we’ll eat outside on a blanket in our backyard (it’s a v-day and anniversary tradition). If not, we’ll spread a blanket out in the living room and watch movies while we eat dinner. We’ve got a couple fun trips and concerts planned in the coming months, too, so those will sort of serve as our blanket celebratory times.
How do you do Valentine’s Day? Solo? Low-key? Go all out? And, most importantly, what do you wear for such an event? Tell me in the comments below!
