How to Wear White Flare Jeans

I have been obsessed with white flare jeans for a while but had the hardest time finding a pair that fit well. Thankfully, my friends at Banana have my back. These white flare jeans come in regular, tall, and petite (that’s me!), so there’s an option for everyone.

The thing I love about white flares is that they can be the the star of the show or just a supporting character, depending on how you style them. For me, I’m obsessed with white on white looks. A white on white look allows flare jeans to just become a part of the outfit, though not necessarily the main aspect of the outfit. I love how Aimee Song styled this look on Pinterest (shameless plug – follow me on Pinterest for more inspiration), but I wanted to add a pop of color to my look to really showcase the white flares.

A single cocktail ring paired with dainty midi rings adds just a little bit more interest to this neutral look.

How to Wear White Flares

Every spring I get really excited to wear white jeans, but if I’m honest, I’ve really struggled with how to pull the look off. If you’ve visited Mae Amor before, you’ve probably learned that I find dressing for my body a challenge. One that I gladly accept, I must add, but a challenge nonetheless. Anyway, it’s a popular notion that if black and other dark colors are slimming, then white must be unflattering. And that’s just not always the case. As with any other fashion challenge, it’s really just about finding the right pieces in the right fit. I personally love white skinny jeans and now I’m thrilled to own a pair of white flares. I am wearing the petite version of these pants and when they first came in they were still too long – even with my 4.5″ wedges. After washing them in hot water and drying them though, they were juuuust right. Since you can’t really roll flare jeans (I mean, you could but it would probably look pretty silly), you’ve gotta get the length just right. It can be difficult to nail. Too long and you look like your pants are wearing you; too short and you look like you’re prepping for heavy rains. I prefer that they be just off the ground so they don’t drag, so sometimes that means a trip to the tailor.

  1. I’m with you on having a hard time finding clothes that fit well…especially pants! Pants shopping is seriously the worst! You’ve found a super flattering pair, though. I will have to check out BR and see if they work on me too!
