Must-Have Summer Wedges

I’ve been on a serious hunt for the perfect summer wedges for literally months now.  Nick and I are headed out for our anniversary/work/birthday/do-you-really-need-an-excuse trip next month and I have several other mini trips lined up throughout the summer, so I’ve been trying to find something that would go with everything and I could walk in.  A neutral wedge seemed like the best option.  I’m sharing all of my favorites from my hunt.  Read more below.

BUDGET: seven // eight // nine // ten // eleven // twelve

I searched and searched for what seemed like forever and all the cute and well-made pairs were sold out in my size.  It seems like every time I found an affordable pair in my size, they had terrible reviews.  I didn’t want cheap wedges that would fall apart in one wear, so I kept searching.  Then when I found these Tory Burch wedges (worn here) in my size, I thought I had won the lottery.  Then I found some Stuart Weitzman wedges (now sold out, worn here) and couldn’t even believe it.  I planned to only keep one pair, but they were different enough and versatile enough that I caved and held onto both.

I kind of wish I had found these budget options sooner, but I do have faith that the two pairs I landed will last me a long time.  I don’t typically spend a lot on footwear, but I’ve been trying to be much more intentional about everything I buy.  I’ve been opting for nice, well-made pieces that will last rather than cheap pieces that won’t last.  I am still very  much a fan of mixing high and low pieces.  I won’t spend hundreds of dollars on a trend that will be old news, but I will invest in versatile pieces that I can wear for seasons to come.  Like I said, I’m just trying to be a little more intentional.

So if you’re on the hunt for the perfect wedge, I’ve got options for you.  I think all of the above are good options, but based on my purchase history, I have a few suggestions.

First of all, if you’re looking to spend a little more for a quality wedge that will last, I’d go with Stuart Weitzman or Tory Burch.  I think the reason SW and TB get my vote is that the shoes are beautiful, solid, and comfortable.  If you’re looking for a cheaper option that is still relatively well-made, I’d look at Steve Madden and Jessica Simpson.  I’m suggesting these brands because I can personally vouch for them.

Secondly, if you find a wedge that you love in your size (and, of course, at a price you’re comforatble with), do NOT wait. This time of year, wedges sell out so fast.  I’ve been tracking wedges for about three months and nothing good stays in stock.  Trust me.  At the time I prepared this post, most of the options I listed were still available in multiple colors and most sizes.  Now many of them are almost sold out.

Hopefully I’ve taken some of the legwork out of the hunt for you.

Happy Shopping!
