Happy Tuesday, Goal Diggers!

Well, 2014 is just about over and it’s time to reflect on our failures and successes for the year and create goals for the new year.  Nick and I proclaimed at the end of 2013 that 2014 would be our year and it so was.  We didn’t know what it would hold, but we just knew that we would be really happy at the end of the year.  I am so excited to say that 2014 really was our year.  I’ve never had one of those years before where I look back and just say “wow, that was amazing.”  And it’s kind of strange that I think 2014 was so remarkable because I’m not sure that anything all that remarkable happened.  We didn’t go on that trip ’round the world I’ve been pushing.  We didn’t have a baby (wasn’t a goal).  We didn’t make a million dollars.  Nothing like that.

But I can tell you two things that happened: 1) Nick got a new job in February (this was one of his resolutions coming into this year) and 2) I quit my job to take on blogging full-time (this was one of my resolutions).  These two things have shaped our year.  Lately I’ve learned to value happiness above most things and it has made all the difference.  Without pursuing happiness, how will you find it?  I can’t tell you the recipe for happiness, but I can tell you that following your goals/dreams (and achieving them or at least making progress), treating other people well, and living with so much love are all sure to help.

In fact, happiness has become something of a theme over here on my little corner of the internet and I will be sharing a lot more with you all in the coming year.  I can’t wait for you to see what’s in store, but for now, I want to tell you a couple of my personal and blog goals.

Nick and I always separate our goals into his, hers, and ours, but this year there’s a lot of overlap because we’ve become much more of a team in this blog thing.

Here are a few of “hers”:

1.  Learn to take better photographs without Nick’s help

2.  Learn German (just a thing I really want to do)

3.  Start Youtube channel (recycled from last year, but actually gonna happen this time because I’ve ACTUALLY BEEN FILMING)

4.  Post every day (why is this so hard for me?)

I have many goals, a lot of them health and fitness related and a lot of them blog related (but more gritty and less fun), but we’ll have to talk about those more later.

What are your new year’s resolutions, dear Goal Diggers?  Talk to me.

Much love!

xo,

* You’ve probably noticed that I wear this necklace A LOT and a few people have asked about it.  It is possibly my favorite everyday piece – I wear it just about every day.  Well, I have no idea how to acquire one.  I made three orders from BaubleBar within a couple days once and each had something “wrong” with them so I got a couple BB Swat Team compensation gifts.  This was one of them. I’ve never seen it on the site, but this heart necklace is the closest I’ve seen.  Hope this helps!

  1. Such a cute t-shirt! Totally spot-on for this time of year — or any time of year! I’m not good at New Year’s resolutions, but I will be posting later this week about my reflections on blogging and why I continue to blog.

Visiting via the ‘Tremendous Tuesday’ linkup 🙂

Thank you, Jen! I am not always great about resolutions either but I always like to reflect on the previous year and set goals for the new year anyway. I LOVED your reflections on blogging post. So glad you mentioned it. Thanks for stopping by! xo

  2. These are great goals, especially the one about posting daily. I am trying very hard too but most of my post are so long and require so much work that I am able to post only five times a week. I also agree about photographs. I am working with a professional photographer to take pictures of all my looks, but sometimes I see beautiful things around me that I want to photograph better. For instance, when I am on vacation (like now). In other words, thank you for sharing your goals and Happy New Year to you, Nick, and your families!
