One of my favorite tricks to styling a long holiday skirt (like this gold sequin skirt) is to pair it with pointed toe pumps and a cozy knit.  I do it just about every year with a different skirt and knit and always feel fancy and cozy at the same time.  Except even a cozy knit was not enough to keep me warm during this shoot.  It was rrreaaalllly cold and sporadically windy.  I was jumping up and down and dancing just trying not to freeze that day.  I even ran back to the car to get my coat and was wearing it then throwing it on park benches and the sidewalk in between shots.  Looking at these pictures makes me cold.  I still felt fancy though.

And while we’re speaking of this photo shoot, I wanted to let it be known that during this shoot, I thought I had this great idea to call this post “All That Glitters.”  It wasn’t until moments ago when I was pulling together my links for this post that I realized that was actually the name of the skirt.  I guess great Maes think alike.

I’m not cheesy, am I?

Anyway, happy Thursday my loves!  Hope it’s your best Thursday yet.

xo,

Mae-Signature

  1. Such a fun post! Working it with the sequins but managing comfort with the sweater. Brilliant! The braid is to die for. I’d love for you to check out my blog!

Ha, Julie! My hair has a mind of it’s own, too…my trick is a keratin treatment and years of training. It still does what it likes much of the time though. Thanks for stopping by and sharing some love. xo
