Navy Skater Dress
This look is one of my favorites. More specifically, this dress is perfection. It’s super comfy and I think it’s pretty flattering too. Even N couldn’t get enough of it. He asked me to buy one in every color. I just might. I wore this dress to a casual dinner the other night but I would like to wear this every day. To run errands or (I think I’m required to say this) to brunch. The dress is a great length for me (it is NOT a petite dress, oddly enough), the waistline is appropriate (because the dress is stretchy, you can sort of adjust where this falls), and the a-line bottom is sure to flatter most body types (particularly those blessed in the tookie* area…i.e., me). I just might call this the perfect daytime dress.
I also love the flats in this look (you’ve probably seen them if you follow me on Instagram) but they are sold out. I hate to be this person but I totally am….whenever I find something I like, I want to buy a bunch of it. Cute dresses, kimonos, floral flats, smoking shoes, rattan chairs (or really any chairs). I’m a collector. If I like it, I accumulate it. A bunch of it.

* I think we’re close enough now for me to tell you that I call butts (bottoms, booties, heinies) “tookies” (like “cookies” with a “t”). Not sure why. It’s just something I started saying in college, I think. I have odd words for other things but I’m not sure we’re on that level yet. Maybe I’ll share the dictionary of Mae one day.

Hi Gina! Thanks for the kind words! You might be able to find the flats in a Gap store and they may come back in stock online. When I first got them in the store, I couldn’t find them online. Then I found them but now they are sold out online. It might be worth checking.
And I’m 5’0″. The dress seems to be a good length on me (just above the knee) but I think it could comfortably be a little shorter so maybe it would work for you.
This dress is so cute! The navy is such a great classic color and I love the fun floral flats you paired it with!
