Summer’s over. That’s a fact. And quite frankly, “that’s depressing,” as my three-year-old niece would put it.  During my time off last week I made an additional stop in my hometown in Arkansas to visit family. Growing up in Arkansas my family frequented the lakes in the summer. My sisters and I all swam competitively for years and would unwind after a hard practice by heading out on the boat. These days I never make it home in the summer (heck, I’m lucky if I make it out of the office) so I am always a little sad when I visit and it is too cold to even dip my toes into the water.  But the lake is even more peaceful at this time of year.  A couple fishermen in their boats and a handful of ducks are generally the only action these waters see at this time.  This makes it the perfect time to roll out of bed and sit in a rocking chair on the deck to watch the sun come up and enjoy a hot cop of joe.
