Cargo Jacket + Confessions of a Perfectionist

Jacket: PacSun | Top: Forever 21 | Jeans: Joe’s | Shoes: Mossimo (Target) | Watch: Skagen
It’s liberating when you learn to live for those you love and for yourself. There will always be people who are impossible to please, but you don’t live for them.  So live for the people and things that make you happy.
I’m a perfectionist – big time.  Not that I’m perfect.  Being a perfectionist does not necessitate perfection and it certainly doesn’t mean I think I’m prefect, so don’t hold me to that.  It just means that  it really bugs me to feel less-than-perfect.  My job entails creating reports that absolutely must be perfect.  This blog, on the other hand, is my creative space where I can write stylistically instead of technically.  I can use two spaces after the period or just one (count ’em. I stopped counting them, so I don’t care).  I can share pictures where my hair is out of place or the lighting isn’t great.  I can be less-than-perfect and I’m fine with it.  Before I started Mae Amor, the fear of producing something that people wouldn’t like almost kept me from starting it at all.  If I can’t do it well, I don’t even want to try must have come out of my mouth a thousand times.  But I think part of what works for me is that my blog isn’t perfect, but it’s still something I can be proud of.  You may notice that I generally have hair ties on my wrist and my nails aren’t always painted.  It drives me nuts sometimes, but that’s just me.  So thanks for checking out my blog and for appreciating the time I spend producing content.  That’s why I blog anyway, for my readers.  It’s my hope that my content provides some sort of a service to others.  Maybe there’s another shortie with a big bootie that wants to dress well without looking two feet tall or maybe there’s someone else who has a career but doesn’t want to dish out thousands of dollars every month to look good.  Whatever the case may be, if this provides a service to anyone, it’s worth it to me.  This is for you.
Happy Hump Day!
May we all learn to live for the people and things we care about.
Much love,
Mae

    • Thanks, Christina! I’m loving this look, too. It’s so fun to mix a cargo jacket with flirty, feminine pieces.
