Bright and Breezy

It may seem counterintuitive for a shortie such as myself to love maxi skirts. I of course believe in dressing well and dressing for your body, but more importantly, I believe in dressing in things that make you happy.  For me, that’s a good maxi skirt.  I’ve acquired a few tips for pulling off the look. First of all, I wear them a little higher at the smallest part of my waist.  This creates the illusion of a smaller waist and also helps prevent the skirt from dragging on the ground.  I also like to pair the skirt with a more structured top to balance out the easy breezy bottom.  Finally, a shoe with some height helps.
The sheer detail in this skirt from Red Dress is beautiful and the necklace is the perfect compliment.  These are definitely great additions to my closet. Red Dress has lots of other great items on their site and they offer free shipping on purchases over $50 – check them out!  Also, for all of my Georgia readers, it may interest you to know that they are based in Athens!
Happy Hump Day!
Much love,
Mae
Note: I occasionally receive free items, which are denoted with “gifted” or “c/o.” However, I would never recommend anything that I do not like. Everything featured on Mae Amor is chosen by me, represents my style, and is something I want in my closet.
